Safeberg Backup Privacy Policy

Introduction
Safeberg is all about privacy. This privacy policy defines how we safeguard the privacy of our users’ files and personal data.

Backup
We treat and protect data belonging to our users with the utmost care. Safeberg was designed in a way that makes it technically impossible to access the contents of users’ backups (with Extra and Ultimate safety).

Safeberg offers three levels of security:

1. Ultimate security (Safeberg paper key): the only access to the backup may be obtained by using the offline key.

2. Extra security (Safeberg key protected by individual password): security and privacy depend on the strength of the password as chosen by the user.

3. Standard security (Safeberg holds the key): Safeberg would be able to gain access to the user’s files, but all reasonably appropriate technical measures are taken to prevent Safeberg employees or third parties to do so.

Since Safeberg has no access to the content (in principle) of users’ backups it will not be held accountable for it. A backup, to Safeberg, is an encrypted and therefore unreadable copy of the contents of a user’s data files. In good faith, we rely on the users to use Safeberg Backup to its intended purposes. Responsibility for the content is solely of the user. At the same time, Safeberg wishes to prevent the service and privacy it offers to be taken abuse of by means of the distribution of possibly illegal data. That is why technical features have been implemented to render it inefficient to use Safeberg Backup for the frequent exchange of data amongst multiple users.

In case Safeberg is requested to supply user data by means of a court order, this request will be granted. It is hereby stated explicitly that in case the user has opted for Extra or Ultimate security, Safeberg is technically incapable of supplying decrypted data.

Personal data
In order to deliver our services in the best possible way, Safeberg requests the user to supply some essential personal data. Safeberg uses this data exclusively and to the extent necessary for administrative purposes. Safeberg B.V. will under no circumstance supply third parties any user data regarding the service or the visitors of its website, or use this data for any other means than those stated above.

Newsletter
Interested parties or users of the service can sign up for a newsletter. You can unsubscribe any time by using the unsubscribe-link in the specific newsletter.

Changes
Modifications and changes in the Privacy Policy will be announced through the Safeberg website.
